The Township office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
REMINDER: Township meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the township office.

Newport Township is located in Lake County, Illinois. As of 2009 our population was 4,998. Our township includes the villages of Wadsworth, Old Mill Creek, Millburn, Russell, small portions of the Villages of Gurnee and Antioch, and a very small portion of the city of Zion. Newport Township covers an area of 33.18 square miles (85.94 square kilometers); of this, 0.3 square miles (0.77 square kilometers) or 0.9 percent is water. Lakes in our township include Sterling Lake. The streams of Mill Creek, North Mill Creek and Pettibone Creek run through the township.
